The Film Making Process

Creating a captivating video production relies on having a well-structured plan in place before the cameras start rolling. This organization not only streamlines the creative process, but also ensures your video will meet your objectives, adhere to the budget, and be completed on time. Our ten-step process, beginning with an initial consultation, guarantees a seamless filmmaking experience.

1. Initial Consultation

Our journey starts with a 45-minute consultation to understand your project, its objectives, and your target audience. We'll discuss your vision, key elements for the video, and the direction we should take. Based on this conversation, we'll develop a Creative Brief outlining our approach.

2. Creative Brief

The Creative Brief acts as a project blueprint, covering:

  • Introduction and overview

  • Target audience

  • Goals and objectives

  • Visual and stylistic themes

  • Story arc

  • Essential keywords

  • Primary and supporting shots

  • Responsibilities of both parties

  • Soundtracks and music

  • Shooting schedule

  • Deadline dates

Upon your approval of the Creative Brief, we'll proceed with the necessary paperwork.

3. Statement of Work, Estimate, and Down Payment

With the Creative Brief signed, we'll provide a Statement of Work and Estimate, outlining the project terms, deliverables, deadlines, roles, responsibilities, and payment details. The project cost is split into two installments:

a) 50% due within 7 days of signing b) Remaining balance due upon delivery

Once paperwork is signed and the deposit is collected, we'll begin working on your project.

4. Pre-Interviews

For interview-based videos, we'll schedule pre-interviews to establish rapport and learn more about each participant. Pre-interviews can be conducted in person, over the phone, or via Zoom.

5. Polished Script, Interview Questions & Shot list

We'll finalize the script and/or interview questions and create a shot list based on the key points, script, and interview questions.

6. Location Scout

We'll visit the filming location(s) to prepare for the shoot, considering factors such as gear requirements, space limitations, potential noise interference, and lighting challenges.

7. Production

During production, we'll capture your story on film, adhering to the Creative Brief and Shot List, while also remaining open to unexpected moments. The duration of this phase depends on the project's complexity and requirements.

8. Editing

The editing stage involves refining your story through video images, motion graphics, color correction, audio enhancement, and licensed music.

9. Client Review & Approval

We'll work closely with you to ensure every aspect of the video meets your expectations, making revisions as needed.

10. Delivery

Finally, we'll deliver the finished video in HD quality on a thumb drive, DVD, or hard drive, depending on the project's size.
